Experienced snorkelers can enjoy seeing larger schools of fish and sea turtles at the Outer Reef at Hanauma Bay.  If you go to the outer reef, it is important to be aware of the currents and tides, including the infamous "Molokai Express". 

Coral can be very sharp and is often the source of some serious cuts and scrapes.  The volunteers at the Hanauma Bay Educational Centre can advice you of areas of the bay to avoid.
